As Program Director, Devotha Mlay oversees the strategic development and implementation of community-based forest carbon programs across Tanzania. By coordinating multidisciplinary teams and building partnerships that advance climate, conservation, and community-development goals, Devotha leads programs that enable communities to protect natural ecosystems while generating lasting social and economic benefits for future generations.
With more than 10 years of experience leading programs in the development and education sectors across East Africa, Devotha has managed multi-country teams and partnerships focused on youth development, gender equity, and education policy. Her background includes serving as Regional Manager for the ALiVE Initiative, and Managing Director of Programs at GLAMI. Outside of work, Devotha enjoys hiking and reading.
